Static Hash: the new static electricity extraction process

a static sift hash in a laboratory

The world of legal cannabis is changing fast. After Rosin and Ice-O-Lator, here's the new extraction process that's got everyone talking at the moment: static sift.

This extraction process doesn't use ice water, pressure or solvents to extract cannabinoids from flowers, but static electricity! And the best part is that the process is 100% natural, so simple that you can even do it at home.

Want to know how it works and how to do it yourself? This is the place!

What is static sift?

Static dry sift is the name of an extraction method. This technique harvests the cannabinoids present in cannabis and hemp flowers. This natural technique, with no additives of any kind, involves gently rubbing the sifted flowers between two materials that generate static electricity.

In just a few minutes, the cannabinoid-laden trichomes are separated from the plant remains: the result is a powerful, perfectly pure, golden powder !

Innovative extraction inspired by ancestral techniques

Static dry sift is becoming increasingly popular these days. Its purity and high quality make it one of the most sought-after products for lovers of premium-quality hash. But the technique itself is not exactly new, and the principle of using static electricity goes back thousands of years!

Dry sifting as we know it today was developed in the 80s by a certain Skunkman Sam. This Californian breeder came up with the idea of dry sifting during a trip to West Africa. During this trip, he observed an ancestral extraction technique: charas. This involves rubbing cannabis flowers between the hands to harvest the trichomes that stick to the skin through static electricity.

After realizing this, Skunkman Sam returned home to California and began refining the technique.

Static sift vs dry sift: what's the difference?

Dry sifting is a technique based on mechanical sieving. CBD flowers are passed through increasingly fine sieves to separate the trichomes from the plant material. Static sift is quite similar, but adds a static electricity "cleaning" stage.

As a result, the static sift is much purer, more powerful and aromatic. But there's much less substance than with the classic dry sift.

Ultimately, static sift is used to produce very pure, high-quality resin, but its yield is rather low. Conversely, dry sift produces a slightly lower-quality result, but in much greater quantity.

Why is static sift hash such a hot topic?

Static sift has many advantages, making it one of the most popular techniques among connoisseurs.

Natural, pure, solvent-free extraction

Unlike many other techniques, which use chemical solvents such as ethanol, or non-chemical solvents such as water, static sift uses a 100% natural process, with no additives of any kind. The product is therefore totally pure, provided the flowers have been grown naturally.

Increased power

The product's purity also ensures a high concentration of cannabinoids. A high percentage of CBD but also of secondary cannabinoids, which considerably increases potency. In fact, when taken together, the trichomes create an entourage effect, a synergy that multiplies the potency and effects of each cannabinoid present.

Preserving taste

Trichomes not only contain cannabinoids, they also contain terpenes and flavonoids. These are what give the flowers their distinctive taste, which varies from variety to variety. Static sift extraction produces a concentrate of potency and taste.

Static sift: how does it work? Step-by-step explanation

There's no single method for making dry sift. Each laboratory and producer has its own techniques and tricks of the trade. Some operate in a cold atmosphere, using frozen flowers, others use specific machines to increase extraction speed... Nevertheless, the steps in the process are pretty much the same every time:

1. Crumbling and pre-filtering

CBD flower sieving

To begin with, we take our flowers and grind them to obtain a raw material that is easier to use. This also speeds up the extraction process, as the finer the raw material, the easier it is to harvest the trichomes.

Next, we pass the grinded flowers through a first sieve, as we would for a dry sift. Take a fairly large sieve, 130 to 170 microns, and rub the flowers over it to remove as much plant matter as possible. If you want the next step to be even faster, you can pass the sieved flowers through other, even finer sieves.

2. Separation by static electricity

The powder is rubbed between two surfaces, creating static electricity. Manufacturers generally use plastic or glass surfaces.

But if you want to do it at home, you can use cling film and plastic gloves. You rub your sieved pollen on a surface covered with cling film with your gloves, to collect the trichomes. Then remove them from your gloves with a brush, and you're done.

3. Formatting

At the end of the process, you get a very fine powder, a kind of very pure CBD pollen. You can keep it this way and consume it as CBD pollen. But to obtain a resin, you can also press it hot or cold.

A simple but effective technique

Static Sift is a perfect example of how the world of legal cannabis continues to evolve and innovate. Inspired by ancestral techniques but brought up to date with modern processes, it offers a natural, simple and effective alternative for obtaining a high-purity product.

This hash seduces with its intensity, rich aromas and powerful effects. Today, it's the method of choice for premium hash lovers looking for quality and authenticity.

FAQ

How do you eat static sift?

You can consume Static Sift like any other CBD resin: by infusion, ingestion or vaporization. We always recommend vaporization. It's a smoke-free, combustion-free way of consuming CBD, so you can get the most out of the product's effects and taste, with the least danger to your health.

Static frozen hash: what's the difference using frozen flowers?

As already mentioned, some manufacturers prefer to use frozen flowers. As with live rosin, using fresh frozen flowers makes a difference in terms of cannabinoids and taste. Drying flowers tends to oxidize certain cannabinoids and terpenes, altering taste and effects.

How much does static sift cost?

The price of static sift varies according to the distributor and the flowers used to make the product. With us, you can enjoy static sift 10-OH-HHC from €4.30 per gram for 100 grams.

Is static sift legal?

As long as it is made from CBD flowers authorized in the European Union and the finished product contains less than 0.3% THC, static sift, even if you make it yourself, is perfectly legal.
