What is Ice-o-Lator hash?

Ice-O-Lator is an innovative ice-based extraction process. It allows for the production of very high-quality hash from plant material (flowers, leaves, branches, etc.). The ice used during the process freezes the terpenes and trichomes, allowing them to detach gently from the plant material.

If you're wondering what trichomes and terpenes are, it's simple: trichomes are small doses of concentrated cannabinoids; they're the tiny white specks you can see with the naked eye on the buds. Terpenes, on the other hand, are invisible; they are natural aromatic molecules.

Thanks to this environmentally and plant-friendly technique, we bring together these two components to create a highly refined hashish, of incredible perfection and with a delicate and deep aroma.

History of IceoLator hash

This revolutionary technique was patented in the 1990s by a Dutch company: the Pollinator Company. Its initial name was "Neder Hash," a reference to the country where it was developed. Later, the company marketed the process under the name Ice-o-Lator, the name used today.

We know who patented Ice-o-Lator, but as with Moonrock MoonrockCBDnot easy to find out precisely who invented Neder hash.

Some attribute its development to Mila Jansen, the queen of hash, a pioneer of the smoking industry in the Netherlands. Others claim that it was invented by the duo Robert Connell Clarke, an American ethnobotanist, and Sam the Skunkman, an American grower living in Holland and eccentric author of the famous "The Creators of Sacred Seeds".

Regardless of who invented it, this technique is now used by a large number of distributors around the world, much to the delight of the most demanding resin enthusiasts.

How is IceoLator extracted?

The principle behind the Ice-o-Lator is quite simple: it involves separating the cannabinoid-rich pitems and collecting them using sieved bags. By passing from bag to bag, we collect increasingly finer residues, until we obtain a true cannabinoid concentrate of crystalline purity.

The technique can be used from leaves, branches and trim or from beautiful buds for an even stronger and more delicate blend.

Some are reluctant to use buds to create Ice-o-Lator hash, as it takes approximately 100 grams of CBD buds to obtain only 10 to 20 grams of Ice-o-Lator.

For us, it's worth the effort. For our Ice-o-Lator, we only use buds CBD-rich so flavorful and so potent.

Step 1: The mixing

For this step, we place our pre-frozen CBD buds , water, and ice into our extraction machine. The machine gently agitates everything to separate the different components.

Step 2: Extraction and harvesting

Once the threshing is complete, all that remains is to filter the mixture in checkout to separate the terpenes and trichomes from the grass residue.

As the material passes through the various extraction bags, the residue becomes progressively finer. The mixture takes on an ochre-red color after the 200-micron sieve. It turns green after the 120-micron sieve and finally brown after 90 microns. We repeat this process down to 25 microns, obtaining the finest possible hash.

Step 3: Drying

Since we use water to create our Iceolator, drying is a crucial step. But just like with our CBD flowers, this step is more delicate than it seems. To obtain high-quality hash, you must proceed with care.
Over-drying can damage the cannabinoids and alter the taste of the product. If it doesn't dry quickly enough, mold and other bacteria can develop, degrading the product and potentially posing a risk to the consumer.

Final step: curing

Curing, or maturing, is of paramount importance. It allows our Ice O Lator to achieve an ideal texture and reveal its subtle and delicate aroma.

The process involves allowing the product to mature in the dark and under a controlled atmosphere. This allows certain undesirable molecules to break down, leaving room for the trichomes and terpenes. These can then fully develop their pleasant aromas and subtle potency.

Ice-o-Lator or Bubble hash?

If you've ever read items about Ice-o-Lator, you've probably noticed that authors often use the terms Ice-o-Lator hash and Bubble hash interchangeably. This isn't a mistake: it's the same product!

Some also use the name "full-melt hash." The reason? Under a microscope, Iceolator resembles an assembly of trichomes fused together. It can also be found under the name "Water Hash," referring to its extraction process.

The name Bubble Hash comes from the name of its extraction machine: the Bubbleator. It is simply a simplified extraction machine designed for home use.

Ice-o-Lator: 100% legal hash

Ice-o-Lator CBD, like CBD flowers and its derivative products, is legal in France and Europe as long as its THC level is less than 0.2%.
