Potential side effects of CBD

side effects cbd blog

Very much in vogue since its marketing authorization in June 2018 in France, CBD is generating a lot of debate and sometimes controversy. Questions about its side effects are at the heart of quite legitimate questioning. We take stock to better understand this molecule and ensure thoughtful, studied consumption.

What is CBD?

CBD or cannabidiol is a natural natural productfrom the cannabis sativa plant. It is one of the hundred or so cannabinoids found in hemp.

Sold in various forms, including flowers, oil and resin, it has been legally authorized for sale in France since the summer of 2021, as long as its THC content does not exceed 0.2% and it is produced in a member state of the European Union. With no psychotropic effects, cannabidiol does not alter the senses, so it is not a drug, and is neither harmful nor addictive, according to the World Health Organization.

On the other hand, fundamental research on CBD has demonstrated relaxing and anti-inflammatory properties. This is a feel-good effect because CBD acts on the endocannabinoid system, which controls the functioning of a large number of biological functions such as sleep, mood and pain.

What are the side effects?

As with any molecule that acts on the body, precautions must be taken and attention paid to the dose consumed. But also, as with any molecule having consequences, side effects, even if rare, can be observed.

Here is a non-exhaustive list, so that you have all the information you need before taking them, and bear in mind that most side effects are benign.

Each individual reacts differently to CBD, depending on his or her body and the dose consumed, which is why it's advisable to try a measured dose first to ensure that no side effects are experienced.

What are the potential side effects?

- Sleepiness

One of the most common side effects is drowsiness. CBD is a natural relaxant and therefore helps against insomnia, which is why it is advisable to take it before going to bed. However, each CBD has different effects, depending of course on its dosage. Some can therefore be taken during the day without any problem. Be sure to refer to the instructions for use.

- Dry mouth

A sensation of dry mouth may occur with cannabidiol consumption, and sometimes dry eyes. This dry mouth is due to CBD's interaction with endocannabinoid receptors in the salivary glands, naturally reducing saliva secretion. This sensation can quickly be eliminated with sufficient hydration.

- Loss of appetite

Known for its appetite-suppressant properties, CBD helps to reduce the rate of lipogenesis while stimulating proteins, two factors that contribute to increased removal of excess fat.

- Fatigue

Fatigue is a side effect generally seen in people suffering from chronic fatigue. In this case, the CBD dosage must be adjusted.

- Nausea and intestinal discomfort

CBD can sometimes cause nausea, stomach discomfort and, very rarely, even vomiting. It's a little-known effect, but it can happen. If this happens, it's probably because the cannabidiol consumed was a little strong. Simply reduce the dose and check that it's not the CBD that's causing the nausea (vaporization, herbal tea...).

How to prevent CBD side effects?

CBD is a molecule that interacts with the body, so it is necessary to be consumption. If you're a new user, we can only recommend that you start with small, light doses, starting sporadically, such as three times a week. You'll then be able to observe the effects that taking cannabidiol has on your body, and modify the doses you consume little by little until you find your ideal dosage for the desired effects. The quality of CBD is also a major factor in reducing side effects. Always turn to trusted retailers with recognized quality controls.

If you notice any disturbing or persistent side-effects, consult your doctor, who will be able to advise you on how to adapt your consumption.

It's also important to avoid any drug interactions, and if you're undergoing regular treatment, it's essential to talk to your doctor first to ensure your safety before consuming CBD in any form.

Conclusion:

Recognized as non-toxic by the World Health Organization Health Organization (WHO - report by Professor Amine Benyamina - 2017), Today, CBD is considered first and foremost for its wellness benefits and stress-relieving effects. Its side effects are infrequent if consumed in a reasonable manner.

You've read the article's title: today we're going to talk about H2CBD. As you've probably guessed, it's a synthetic molecule created in the laboratory. It sits right between CBD and H4CBD. At least on a molecular level, because, as we shall see, in terms of bioavailability and [...].

CBD in a nutshell... Cannabidiol (CBD) is a substance found in Cannabis, but unlike THC, it has no psychoactive effect. CBD interacts with the brain's CB1 and CB2 receptors, as well as with anandamide, a neurotransmitter also known as the "happy molecule", and acts as a [...].

THC acetate ester (THC-O or THCOA) is a synthetic cannabinoid that has been around for decades. It was much in the news in the 70s for its "spiritual and psychedelic" potential. After this spotlight, it was banned in many countries. But in recent years, with the relaxation of the various [...]
