Epidyolex, a cannabidiol-based oral solution, is prescribed for two childhood epilepsies.
It is prescribed after failure of previous treatments and for the treatment of convulsions associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) or Dravet syndrome (DS), in association with clobazam, for patients aged 2 and over. [4] It is now available in pharmacies and dispensaries on presentation of a prescription.
In a handful of pharmacies in Belgium and Switzerland, natural CBD is only available on prescription[5]in the form of a magistral preparation.
