THCB will be classified as a narcotic as of June 03, 2024. We no longer market this molecule. The following product sheets have been kept for information purposes only. They constitute an archive of our site's activity over time.
Explorer of the vast universe of cannabinoids, prepare to dock in an exciting new territory, the world of THCB.
THCB is the acronym for Tetrahydrocannabutol and as you might suspect, it is a more or less distant cousin of THCV , THCP and THCJD .
Do you need information before heading out exploring? This is the place to find it!
THCB is a minor cannabinoid . It was discovered in 2019 in the same Italian laboratory that discovered THCP.
Like the latter, it is present in very small quantities (less than 0.1%) in its natural state on some cannabis plants.
Molecularly, it is also very similar to THCP and THCJD. In fact, the molecule is almost the same; only its side chain differs. It consists of 6 atoms for THCB, 7 atoms for THCP, and 8 for THCJD.
Far from being insignificant, this chain of atoms plays a major role in the molecule's interaction with the receptors in our bodies. In short, a different number of atoms results in very different effects.
Before discussing the effects of THCB, it is important to remember two things:
First, cannabinoids produce individual experiences, which vary from person to person and from product to product. Second, the effects we will discuss are not supported by any studies; they are based solely on our own experience and customer feedback.
Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about THC-B. This cannabinoid can produce a psychoactive effect at low doses. As with THCP, this "high" is characterized by feelings of euphoria, relaxation, and well-being.
It can also cause an increase in brain activity, resulting in some people experiencing a boost in creativity and energy.
It could also lead to changes in appetite and distortion of perception.
While these effects are generally quite pleasant, it is still important to remember that this is a powerful product and different from regular CBD, so we urge you to exercise caution if you are about to consume it.
Due to its low concentration in its natural state, THCB cannot be cultivated naturally like CBD. It absolutely requires laboratory production before being added to flowers and resins.
Like many other CBD derivatives , THCB is produced through terpenylation. This involves selecting a terpene with the desired molecular characteristics and reacting it with another terpene whose molecular structure is complementary. The chemical combination of the two results in THCB.
Regarding the safety of this operation, we can state without a shadow of a doubt that it is safe as long as it is carried out correctly.
Indeed, it is one of the chemical processes that can be found in the manufacture of a large number of products, whether food or pharmaceutical. It has been known and used for a long time.
However, there can be a margin of error, and some manufacturers and wholesalers do not hesitate to bend best practices to increase their profit margins. Make sure you purchase these products from a trusted retailer.
Like all the products you will find in our online store, THCB is legal in France, as it is not listed as a controlled substance and is not derived from a controlled substance.
THC is one of the controlled substances, and our products undergo testing by independent laboratories. Therefore, you can be confident that our products contain less than 0.3% THC, in accordance with current legislation.
Although currently legal, the status of THCB may change by decision of the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products, if the products presented a risk of dependence or habituation.
As you probably suspect, there are relatively few scientific studies on THC-B. The ones we found are preliminary studies, meaning they were conducted on mice. THC-B has not yet been tested on humans.
However, three studies conducted by three different laboratories in 2020 examined THC-B. By compiling the results, it appears that THCB may have applications in:
Although these medical applications look promising, many more tests are needed to ensure that they have no harmful effects on human beings, and that they have no medium- or long-term effects.
CBOO is first and foremost a team of CBD enthusiasts. We personally select each product we decide to offer for sale.
Our resins and flowers come exclusively from suppliers selected for the quality of their cultivation and product and who share the same vision as us: CBD must be of impeccable quality, safe and accessible to all.
If these are values that resonate with you, then why wait any longer? Try our products and feel free to tell us what you think!
Warning: THCB is a potent cannabinoid that can produce psychoactive effects. We advise caution when using it. It is not a medicine and should not be used as such. It is prohibited for pregnant or breastfeeding women and children. It is strongly advised against using it before driving any machine or vehicle.
