THC-B, an exciting new cannabinoid

THC-B is a cannabinoid naturally present in certain hemp varieties. It was discovered in 2019, at the same time as THCP, in the same laboratory in Italy and in the same variety, FM2.

Many characteristics are shared between THCP and THCB. Both have been detected in trace amounts, present in minute quantities (less than 0.1%), and have almost the same molecular structure. The only difference lies in the number of carbon atoms in their side chains. THCP has 7 carbon atoms, while THC-B has 6.

The number of atoms plays a significant role in how the molecule interacts with the body. A lower number of atoms suggests that THC-b would have a milder and slower effect than THC-p.

However, this assumption should be taken with a grain of salt. Depending on the variety, its cultivation method, the terpenes and other cannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN…) that make up a variety, the potency of its molecule can vary greatly.

The effects of THCB

THCB is a powerful molecule that produces a mild high, characterized by feelings of calm, relaxation, and well-being. It may also cause some users to experience a surge of energy and creativity, as well as temporary euphoria.
