King Hassan resin is a filtered resin. It is a type of black hashish, produced using the traditional methods of the Rif Valley.

Which King Hassan are we talking about?

Some believe the name " King Hassan " refers to the famous King Hassan II of Morocco, whose reign spanned the second half of the 20th century. However, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. Although the cannabis industry (and hashish in particular) flourished during Hassan II's reign, the King always firmly opposed it. In 1992, he even publicly pledged to wage a "relentless fight" against it.

In our opinion, this name could just as easily refer to one of his predecessors: Sultan Moulay Hassan I. His reign lasted only about ten years and was marked by tribal rivalries. So much so that, to ease tensions, he officially authorized the cultivation and consumption of cannabis in a few villages in the Rif Valley. The village of the Ketamas, whose hashish is among the most renowned in the world, was one of them.

So, whether it's a nod to a war on drugs that hasn't been as effective as expected, a reference to the unifying power of hash, or simply a haphazard name without any real basis, we can't say.
