A powerful fruity, slightly lemony scent is the main characteristic of the Beldia Hash. Like the more classic yellows, the Beldia Hash is a sandy, crumbly hashish, the taste is also very traditional and reminiscent of the most iconic cannabis resins.

Let yourself be intoxicated by the flavours of Morocco's terroir

The Beldia hash is the traditional resin of the Rif mountains in northern Morocco. These mountains, whose name means "shore", offer unparalleled views of the Mediterranean.

Thanks to the altitude and proximity to the sea, the plants grow in a warm climate swept by iodine-laden salt winds. This ideal atmosphere for Beldia flowers gives them their sweet, earthy notes .

Relax, it's an organic crop

To get as close as possible to traditional Bildya, our female sativa plants are raised organically and ecologically. We use no pesticides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers of any kind: only manure.

Beldia is a sandy resin with an easily crumbly texture. Its delicate aroma, with notes of pine, flowers and honey, and its earthy aftertaste reminiscent of coffee and incense, will delight the most delicate palates.

The soothing effect of our Beldia, with 20% CBD, is fast-acting and very mild. With no psychotropic effects , you'll stay clear-headed. It's the ideal companion for an indulgent break in a busy day.

A production method inspired by traditional techniques

To make Beldia resin, it's not just the variety and its cultivation that are traditional. So is the method of extraction. After harvesting and drying the flowers, the locals still make Beldia the old-fashioned way. They pass the flowers through sieves by tapping them with a stick. The recovered trichomes and terpenes are then compacted in a mechanical press, the screw of which is still operated by hand.

Demand forced us to automate the production process of our Beldia CBD resin. But we wanted to keep as close as possible to this ancestral method. As a result, our beldia hash CBD resin retains the smooth, subtle aromas, frothy texture and greenish-yellow color typical of this legendary hash.

The history of Beldia hash and the Rif valleys

As you probably know, the mountain valleys of the Rif are famous for their cannabis crops and hash. This reputation stems from the region's long geopolitical history. As we told you on the royal King Hassan Hash page, hash cultivation was legalized by Sultan Hasan I in the late 19th century. In a bid to ease tensions between the Berber tribes living in the mountains, the sultan authorized cannabis cultivation.

This crop, although subsequently banned, remained very active in the mountains, often providing the peasants with their only means of subsistence. Beldia was one of the only plants hardy enough to be grown on the poor soils of these arid mountains.

Shortly after the country's independence in the 1950s, the inhabitants, opposed to the government in power, barricaded in the impregnable fort offered by the Rif foothills, managed to survive thanks to their plantations.

Until the 70s, cannabis was consumed finely chopped and mixed with black tobacco. It was with the hashish passion of the hippie movement that resin processing became the norm in Morocco. Indeed, the hippie hashish trails took a tour of the Rif mountains and bequeathed to the locals the know-how that had originated in Pakistan and Lebanon. Since then, the region's hashish has acquired an undeniable prestige.

A controlled appellation for the good of all?

The Beldia hash which can be spelled Beldiya or bildya, takes its name from the word beldi, literally meaning "from the boondocks". Researchers are still unsure when hemp from India first arrived in North Africa. The current consensus is that it was introduced between the 13th and 15th centuries.
Over time, it adapted perfectly to the altitude, rocky soil, lack of irrigation and abundant but uncertain rainfall of the region. Nevertheless, this somewhat wild variety produces a lower yield than many of the hybrid varieties that have taken the market by storm since the 2000s.

This lower yield was seen as a loss of earnings by some of the region's larger growers. They tried to plant "more profitable" varieties such as Critikal orAmnesia. The problem is that these varieties are not made to grow in these conditions: they further impoverish the soil and require a substantial water supply, in a region where access to water is a problem.

To remedy this, the Moroccan government began by legalizing the cultivation of cannabis for medical purposes in order to regulate cannabis cultivation and sales. As a result, a number of organizations and advocates of traditional Beldia are campaigning for the variety to be classified as an appellation d'origine contrôlée. This certification would protect the cultivation of this plant, whose history is intertwined with that of the region.

  2. Racki -

Bravo, big resin level, taste present and pronounced. I'm not even talking about the delivery which is just incredible, compared to the design you're quick (in not even 1 day I received the order it's crazy). In short, a great experience here

  3. Borismir -

Not bad, very crumbly, like pollen. A little lemony even in the mouth.

  4. Michel Pierre -

I like it, but it's fragile, so you have to be careful when handling it. But once you put it in the vapo, it's good, a little lemony...
