How to use CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an increasingly popular natural remedy, particularly for its anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety and pain-relieving properties, all without the psychotropic effects of THC (cannabis).

With this growing popularity, in addition to the classic flowers, oils and resins, a host of new products have appeared that enable us to consume CBD, such as capsules, e-liquids, creams, waxes, crystals and confectionery (chocolates and candies).

So many products and so many ways to use them!

different ways of consuming cbd

Taking CBD orally

> This is the easiest way to take CBD. Whether it's a capsule, a jellybean or even a candy, taking it in this form is very practical and discreet.

Since the product here passes through the digestive system, only a small proportion of the product's CBD will come into contact with the endocannabinoid receptors: this is known as bioavailability, in this case only 15-20%.

Similarly, the effects are felt a little later: 30 to 60 minutes after intake, but they last longer than with other modes of consumption.

For this type of product, the smell of cannabis is absent here.

Sublingual route

CBD oil is generally taken sublingually. Drops are placed under the tongue for just over a minute before being swallowed, allowing the active Cannabidiol (CBD) compounds to be absorbed by the sublingual glands, thus reaching the bloodstream and ultimately the endocannabinoid system rapidly. Bioavailability is good.

The first effects are felt 5 to 20 minutes after intake. The full effects are felt after around 45 minutes. When taken sublingually, the dropper application ensures precise dosage.

In short, it's a practical, precise and fast-acting method of administration.

The smell of cannabis is perceptible if the oil is natural FULL SPECTRUM. Be careful not to confuse it with the smell of chemical terpenes...

CBD oil by sublingual route

By respiratory route

This is the most common method of use. With this mode of administration, CBD acts very quickly, between 2 and 5 minutes. The inner surface of the lungs is highly permeable, allowing CBD bioavailability of between 40 and 55%.

> There are several ways to inhale CBD:

Cannabis CBD flowers

The flowers are officially intended for infusion and vaporization, but some people use them for smoking, despite the fact that this is forbidden.

Consumers are looking for a relaxing effect and a closeness to cannabis. The target audience is threefold: people who like weed but not its effects, people who have smoked too much cannabis before and can't stand THC any more, or those who want to smoke cannabis without getting high.

It enables some cannabis addicts to do without it.

However, smoking flowers generates combustion, and the thick smoke inhaled carries tars and other harmful substances. This is why vaporization is recommended.

E-liquid with CBD

E-cigarette smoke is less harmful than smoking flowers. CBD e-liquids contain CBD isolate, i.e. the CBD molecule alone, not THC of course, nor other cannabinoids such as CBG or CBN. CBD isolate is much less effective.

CBD e-liquids are useful for people who want to stop smoking tobacco.

Nebulization and Vaporization.

Inhaling CBD e-liquid with an ultrasonic nebulizer and vaporizing hemp flowers with CBD are two modes of administration by air. They are accepted and recommended by all doctors in the therapeutic cannabis community, as they are the most effective for a rapid, risk-free effect.

Dermal route

CBD lotions, balms, salves, creams and oils are applied directly to the skin.

Our endocannabinoid system also has receptors in skin cells. The active ingredients are absorbed directly onto the skin's surface without passing through the bloodstream.

Ointments are mainly used for injuries, inflammation and bone pain (arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis). Creams are used for skin diseases (acne, psoriasis, etc.).
