THCPO will be classified as a narcotic as of June 03, 2024. We no longer market this molecule. The following product sheets have been kept for information purposes only. They constitute an archive of our site's activity over time.
Our new super-potent cannabinoid: THCPO
Want to try something new? You won't be disappointed! Discover our new product , THCPO!
Just from the name, you guessed it: this product is top-notch ! So get ready, and watch out, THCPO won't leave you indifferent!
First of all, what is THCPO?
THCPO, or tetrahydrocannabiphorol-O , is a brand new, super-powerful molecule that's already generating a lot of buzz. You could think of it as THCP on steroids, acetylated! We'll explain it all to you step by step.
THCP: a semi-synthetic cannabinoid
IF you've been following CBD news, you'll be aware that THCP is a molecule discovered in 2019 by an Italian laboratory. It's a so-called secondary cannabinoid, as it's present in minute quantities in some hemp and cannabis plants. Molecularly, it's fairly close to THC, but has a longer carbon side chain, which means it hooks more tightly onto the endocannabinoid system. Although this cannabinoid is naturally available, its very low concentration in its natural state forces manufacturers to synthesize it to achieve levels of 10 or 20%, making it a semi-synthetic cannabinoid.
THC-P-O: preceded by acetylation
Acetylation is a chemical process carried out in the laboratory. In layman's terms, it involves adding an acetyl group to a molecule. When you put it like that, it doesn't sound like much, so we won't go into too much detail. But what you do need to know is that this process is not new: its history began in 1853, when a Strasbourg researcher succeeded in synthesizing acetylsalicylic acid. Since then, the process has been mastered to perfection, and is used to synthesize paracetamol and many other popular products.
So what are the effects of THCPO?
As we just said, THCP is already powerful, but in its THCPO version, it's a whole different level of power!
Some even go so far as to claim that THCPO has an affinity for our receptors up to 30 times greater than THCP. This makes THCPO a much more potent molecule , but it's important to be nuanced when discussing its effects: a greater affinity doesn't necessarily mean a greater psychotropic effect! From what we know today, THCPO does produce a psychotropic effect , a feeling of being "high," but as you know, the feeling of being "high" is relative. It's not the same from one person to another and from one plant to another. There are a whole host of parameters to consider, such as each individual's unique body chemistry and the receptivity of their endocannabinoids.
THCPO VS HHCPO :
The differences between the two cannabinoids aren't necessarily obvious. On one hand, we have tetrahydrocannabiphorol-O (THCPO), and on the other, hexahydrocannabiphoro-O ( HHCPO ). On paper, only two hydrogen atoms differentiate them! Since these are new molecules derived from CBD, we don't yet know enough to understand the true differences between them. However, what we can say with certainty is that:
- THCPO and HHCPO are both laboratory-created molecules, and do not exist in their natural state.
- Both molecules have psychoactive and psychotropic properties and therefore a strong recreational potential.
- They are very powerful and must be used with care.
Medical applications?
The psychotropic effect is not the only effect that cannabinoids can provide. Depending on the cannabinoid, we can observe effects on :
- Feeling of appetite and pain
- The body's response to muscle and bone inflammation, stress and anxiety
- The resilience of neurons
- ...
Like other cannabinoids, THCPO could potentially have an impact on one or more of these areas, but to what extent remains to be seen!
Warning:
Like all new cannabinoids derived from synthetic or semi-synthetic CBD , THCP is completely legal . You can consume and transport it anywhere in France without any problems.
Speaking of consumption, some studies seem to suggest that acetylated compounds present some risks of lung damage if vaporized and it is forbidden to smoke them , we advise consumption by infusion (as tea, herbal tea…).
You should not consume psychoactive substances before driving. Furthermore, since roadside drug tests do not differentiate between various cannabinoids, there is always a risk of testing positive for THC if you consume this type of product. We therefore recommend exercising extreme caution when using THCP-based products.
